Despite heavy rainfall following a lengthy drought period, only a trickle of water topples down the picturesque 32ft high Folly Dolly Falls at Meltham near Huddersfield. The falls were a Victorian spectacle and Sunday day trippers used the halt on the Huddersfield to Meltham railway line to picnic and enjoy the scenery, the line just above the falls themselves.
