Description
Clog maker Alan Gaukroger, a volunteer at the Colne Valley Museum in Golcar, working in the reconstructed Edwardian clog workshop, circa 1910. The fixtures are from Allen Parkin’s clog shop in the neighbouring village of Slaithwaite, donated by the family after his death in the 1960's. Clog making is considered a "critically endangered" craft by the Heritage Crafts Association and is listed
