Leonora Cohen OBE, the pioneer of the Suffragette movement, born in Leeds. She was famously arrested for smashing a glass case containing royal insignia at the Tower of London in protest against the government’s position on a woman’s right to vote, honoured in the Council Chamber at Leeds Civic Hall where six plaques to celebrate inspirational women of Leeds have been unveiled. .
