Beth Whitehouse, of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, has been researching her families history and uncovered the tale of New Zealand's first female lighthouse keeper, Mary Jane Bennett, her 4 x great-grandmother who left her family in Nidderdale in the 17th century to follow her lover to the other side of the world.
