Professor Michael Allis, professor of musicology at the University of Leeds, has written a book about Herbert Thompson, chief music critic for the Yorkshire Post between 1886 and 1936. Pictured with some of the collection of Thompson's archives which includes his handwritten memoir, diaries, scrapbooks, annotated scores and correspondence with famous composers of the day.
