Kitemaker and Kite Festival Flyer Alan Poxon, of Gargrave, Skipton, North Yorkshire, started making and mending his own kites as a boy, even out of old plastic bags from his mums shopping. Now Alan has hundreds of kites which he flies for festivals and events and often seen flying his kites on the open tops of Malham Tarn, near Skipton, with his freind Stuart Geldhill.
