Description
Local farmer Stewart Lund by the River Skirfare in Littondale where it disappears underground during the summer months photographed for the Yorkshire Post by Tony Johnson. The river dries up every summer during a hot spell as the water flows underground north of Litton, into huge caverns under the riverbed and re-emerges near Arncliffe downstream. 15th June 2023
