Friends and neighbours organised a surprise homecoming party for Blackpool nurse Jess Cook, who has spent the last six months in Royal Preston Hospital recovering from a COVID related spinal stroke. Dozens turned out in the pouring rain to welcome Jess home and they decorated her house with banners and flags. Jess gives her dog Ruby a hug as she arrives.
