In December 2022, Mike Bates will set off on his biggest challenge yet, to row 3,000 miles solo across the Atlantic Ocean . He hopes to raise a whopping £70,000 for Leeds Hospitals Charity to thank staff who helped son Gabriel, now 10, who was born prematurely and then contracted meningitis. 26 February 2021.
