Description
Fire destroyed the North Pier Pavilion in 1938, attracting thousands of people who watched the blaze from the Promenade and beach. There is still a thriving theatre on the pier today although it had to be saved from closure in 2006 when it was feared 129 years of traditional entertainment would come to an end. historical 19 06 1938 Blackpool Published GH 25 06 38
