10. 9. 84 Elmslie Girls School Blackpool has reopened its doors to under eight-year-olds. A new purpose-built kindergarten came into being as girls aged four, five and six entered the first of three classrooms to be completed. Elmslie used to take in five to 11 year olds from 1918 until 1970 when the junior closed was closed. In 1982, it reopened its doors to girls aged eight to 11.
