Description
Piano smashing was a popular event at galas in the 1970s where an upright was demolished in the fastest possible time and the pieces had to be passed through a 9 inch hole. Here some hammer wielding lads are hard at work at St. Wilfrid s Gala, Standish, on Saturday 17th of June 1972.
