Leeds May 1919 Although the Great War was over, not all the Tommies had returned - there was still the irksome task of providing an army of occupation. This must have been a happy band of fighting men - a cadre of the 8th Leeds Rifles, the West Yorkshire Regiment - who paraded in the city to receive a homecoming welcoem, having fulfilled a spell of such duties.
