Ilkley, 17th December 1974. The cheerful railway guard who has won a special word of praise from his passengers. He is Mr. John Cook who makes the Ilkley-Leeds pay train run four times a day. Mr. Cook, 54, of Burns Hill, Addingham said. I m cheerful because I have been used to working with the public all my life. I was a conductor on buses before joining the railway.
