David Thomson left unveiled a portrait of his father Lord Thomson at the North bridge offices of Scotsman Publications in May 1987. Also in picture, the artist Dorothy Dunnett and Lady Thomson. Man on the right is Roger Ridley-Thomas, managing director of Scotsman Publications.
