The Battle of Little Sparta: In February 1983, Strathclyde Region sent sheriff officers to seize artworks at poet-turned-sculptor Ian Hamilton Finlay s home art gallery in lieu of a 530 rates bill. Picture shows the barrier being lifted for Sheriff Officer Sandy Clark s car.
