Ian Nimmo, editor of the Evening News left officially presents a sonic scalpel and laser to neurosurgeon Phillip Harris at the Western General hospital in Edinburgh, December 1983. The hospital equipment was bought following an appeal to the newspaper s readers. Nurse and other man not identified.
