The Filmhouse, Lothian Road. Originally St Thomas s church, it opened in August 1978 with a temporary entrance on Morrison Street and the main doors opened on February 15th 1982 showing Bertolucci s The tradegy of a Ridiculous Man . The filmhouse is one of the best equipped cinemas in the country with academy ratio, provision for silent speed films, stereo etc. , but it cannot show nitrate films
