1 6 09 A view of the East Tower of Helmsley Castle , through the South Barbican . Helemsley Castle run by English Heritage was built in the early 12th century by Walter Espec , however the castle saw no action until the Civil War in the 17thy century , when after a siege by Parliamentary forces it s defences were dismantled . Picture taken on a Panasonic Lumis DMC LX2 digital camera .
