Few images remain of the Windmill at Hoo Hill, Layton, Blackpool. This painting was photographed by the Gazette in 1935. Bilt in 1736, the windmill, which stood where St Mark s Church now stands on Westcliffe Drive was struck by lightning in 1881. The flash melted the ironwork inside and this dropped, in a solid red lump, to the bottom floor, it was never repaired . Dated 04 11 1935 Published 29 0
