Description
The Alloa four-piece band Wessex headed the cabaret at the Evening News Rothmans Barmaid of the Year competition held in the King James Hotel in June 1979. Wessex were the winners of the Search for a Star talent competition in November 1978. L-r: Jim Finlayson, John Dawson, Jerry Macpherson on drums and Bill Fleming.
